When God Breaks Your Heart

when-god-jpegHas God Broken Your Heart, or the Heart of Someone You Love?

I titled my first book “When God Breaks Your Heart” because God broke my heart. I live with a chronic leukemia that almost took my life in 200o. I wish someone else could have written this book, but God chose me to suffer deeply so that I could help you trust Him, even when you feel He has broken your heart.

This is a book to help you or someone you love through the darkest days and nights.

It’s about people who have found a way to cling to God when others have walked away. There is little here for the philosopher or theologian looking for a fresh approach to the “problem” of suffering. There is much here for those whose problem is suffering.

How will this book help you?

In the pages of this little book you will find the freedom to admit what every Christian feels when life hurts more than they ever imagined-God has let me down. You will be surprised to know that you are not alone in your doubts and set free to express your true feelings to God. You will ask for Jesus’ care openly and feel his love in the ones he sends to your side. You will be comforted to know that Jesus’ heart is breaking with yours. Most importantly, you will see in his promises to Martha and Mary the keys to releasing all the good he intended to come from your heartbreak.

What question does this book answer?

Ever wonder how God could watch what is happening to you or someone you love and not intervene? If you haven’t, you will. And knowing that God could do something about it will break your heart.

I know, this disease that viciously attacks my skin with disfiguring and debilitating pain. As a dedicated Christian it broke my heart to think that God didn’t care for me enough to remove this deadly disease from my life.

I walked away from Him. This book is the message that brought me back to Jesus again.

I loved this book. In going through a season of my own “broken heart”- I experienced much healing by being able to relate to your own “tough questions”. Thank you for being a vulnerable minister

Your words let me know that God had you in mind when He asked me to write this book

I love this book because it shows how you are a normal person like the rest of us who struggle. I think people think pastors have it together and don’t have any problems. Your book shows are real you are. It’s a book for everyone who is struggling in their life with something. Thank you for writing it!

Ed, This book helped me greatly I had a rough couple years, My Grandmother broke her neck and moved in with me, my mother passed away 6 months later she had a 3 week illness with pancreas cancer. Then I had 2 surgeries for pre-breast cancer 1 month after my mom died. My other Gram passed away 4 months later. I worked at a job for 19 years but I had to take care of my moms estate and my boss would not accommodate me to work 3 days a week mind you I only worked 20 hours a week and she asked me to work those hours in 5 days so I had to resign my job. My daughter did a stint in rebellion with a non christian boy, and now my husband who is not saved is not well physically and has had a CT scan and an upper and lower GI.
So I praise God for the book because there has been days when I to did not want to go on, but after reading the book I realize in this sinful world we still can see Gods glory in all the pain.
Thanks for coming to Cannon Beach I am the one that could not quit crying in the prayer meeting I think I was so busy like Martha that I never grieved.
Thank you so much for your story I pray I will keep on rowing no matter what.
