Blessed Routine!
DISCLAIMER: Please note that these are not reports on my current condition. I’m doing very well and I’m extremely thankful. These “Letters from the Valley of Despair” are emails I sent out during my last bout with this disease THREE YEARS AGO. I’m posting them on the blog to help you or someone you love who is suffering right now.
This note went out while we were waiting for some lab results as I began to feel a little better.
Today, for the first time in three days, I did some therapy exercises with my knee. And then, I was able to vacuum my own skin, play fetch practice with my little Annie dog, and, most importantly, have a quiet time with the Lord and my bride in the same place we always meet in the morning. We actually prayed for other people, the church, our friends, and spent a lot of time in thanksgiving.
Friends, don’t ever underestimate the blessing of the routines of your life. When you feel you are losing a grip on life as you know it, it is the routine you will miss the most. You’ll also discover that the small sameness of the rhythms of your life are extremely encouraging when you embrace it again.
Thank you all for your friendship, prayers, notes of encouragement, and comfort.
With our feet firmly on the Rock of our salvation and hope,
Wow. It's Quiet Here...
